Aveiro’s City Hall and ARTshifters are inviting a Portuguese artist (or a foreign artist who is currently working and residing in Portugal) for an arts residency that will take place at VIC // Aveiro Arts House during three weeks between the end of September and the beginning of October.
Goals
The objective of such residency will be the production of a work of art —physical or digital— which may somehow constitute a reference to Aveiro’s traditional identity, within its European context, and preferably one that can be presented more than once. This work will then be presented at the Prisma — Art, Light and Technology festival, in which light has the leading role.
Conditions
The selected artist will be granted funding for transportation (up to 150€), materials and equipment (up to 1.000€) and a gross fee of 1.000€, as well as accommodation at VIC’s arts residency during a maximum of three weeks. Artists will have their own private bedroom at the second floor of VIC, with access to a fully equipped kitchen, two complete bathrooms, a shared working space with and a lovely sunroom. You can check out the space right here.
